Barbara Jean Heflin

Barbara Jean (Barnett) Heflin, 80, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, formerly of Owensboro,passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2013 in Bowling Green. She was born in Philpot to the late Samuel and May Bell Barnett.

Jean was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was adored by many for her natural joy, warm smile, and strong faith. Jean attended and loved Rich Pond Baptist Church in Bowling Green.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Roy Douglas Heflin in 2009 and siblings, Susie Allen and Pete Barnett.

She is survived by a son, Gary Heflin and his wife Linda Cheli Heflin; grandchildren, Astra Heflin Daugherty (Steve) and Aaron Brent Heflin (Rebecca); great-grandchildren, Madison Carby, Kate Carby, Dylan Daugherty, Selena Daugherty, and Cheli and Rory Heflin all of Bowling Green, KY; siblings, Clay Barnett, Dorothy Ralph, Bobby Barnett, Faye Kessinger, Ernestine Allen, Wayne Barnett, Roy Barnett, Coy Barnett, and Connie Cockerell ; and many nieces and nephews.


The funeral service will be held at Noon on Tuesday, March 26 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Bro. Steve Hussung will officiate. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday after 9:00 AM at the funeral home.
