Barbara Gaye Reynolds Duncan, 81, of Owensboro passed away Sunday, December 3, 2017 at her home. She was the faithful wife and dearest friend of the late Virgil Lee Duncan Jr. for 22 years who died in 2002. Mrs. Duncan was born January 9, 1936 in Owensboro to the late William "Nick" Reynolds and Ethel Wimsatt Reynolds. Barbara graduated from Owensboro Catholic High School. Her working years varied considerably from being employed at the CIA under George H. W. Bush to opening and running the Barbara Reynolds Charm School in California to being a bookkeeper at Tom Blue Furniture for 43 years where she still kept accurate ledger books. Barbara was a devoted member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church where she attended mass daily and faithfully performed times of Adoration each week. She took her camera with her everywhere she went and people were known to flee when she entered a room knowing she was going to take their picture. Barbara loved her family especially her two grandsons.
Mrs. Duncan was also preceded in death by her brothers, James and Andy Reynolds.
Those left to cherish her memory include her step-daughter, Janna DeMarsh and husband Mike of Crescent Springs, Kentucky; two grandsons, Drew and Alex DeMarsh; a sister, Mary Lee Howard of Owensboro; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be 1:00 pm Thursday, December 7 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Father Pat Reynolds officiating. Visitation will also be Thursday from 10 until 12:30 pm at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be at Mater Dolorosa Cemetery next to her husband.
