Barbara Durene Dillingham, 80, of Owensboro, passed away Thursday November 28, 2024, at the Heartford House while under the care of Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Kentucky. She was born August 31, 1944, in Evansville, Indiana, to the late Alexander and Paulene Ingram Pike. Barbara was a 1962 graduate of Bosse High School in Evansville and worked in bookkeeping for Owensboro National Bank / BB&T until retirement in 2001.
She was an accomplished seamstress and taught sewing classes in the 1960’s, made all of her own clothes, and sewed for many others. Barbara also made her daughter’s wedding dress, bridesmaids dresses, and her own mother of the bride dress for herself. Barbara was a member of Owensboro Christian Church where she volunteered in different areas over the years of her membership there.
Along with her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, J. Dillingham; and a brother, Jerry Pike.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth (John) Thompson; grandchildren, Kara (Caleb) Roberts, Abby (Aaron) Turner, and Adam (Christa) Thompson; two great-granddaughters; brother, Bob (Pam) Pike; a sister, Linda Pike; a sister-in-law, Marilyn Pike; and many nieces and nephews.
