Barbara Daugherty

Barbara Daugherty, 78, of Owensboro, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.  She was born June 23, 1945 in Frankfort to the late Perry and Etha Risinger Moorman.  Barbara was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and was retired from Bell South.  She loved her church and the Lord, loved gospel music and sang in two gospel groups, the Community Crusaders and the Highlanders.  Barbara loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and her dog Lollipop.  She was also preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Larry Daugherty, Sr.

 Surviving are her children, Larry Daugherty and wife Kelley of Philpot, Stacy Morris and husband Brent of Hawesville, Angela Daugherty of Owensboro, and Bruce Lindsey and wife Angela of Owensboro, and a stepdaughter, Kaye Dennison of Owensboro; 11 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

 Funeral services will be 2 PM Saturday, May 25, at First Free Will Baptist Church.  Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of the service Saturday at First Free Will Baptist.
