A.W. Cole

A.W. "Willie" Cole, 65, of 1943 Wyandotte, Owensboro, died Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at his home. Willie was retired after 25 years from General Electric. He was an Air Force Veteran during the Vietnam War, and was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren, playing golf, watching U.K. and pro football on television. He was an avid landscaper at his home and was currently employed part-time at Sam's Club.

Preceding him in death were his parents; Earl and Mable (Cambron) Cole, a brother; Earl Ray Cole, and an infant sister.

Surviving is his wife of 35 years; Patricia Cole, a daughter; Angie (Chris) Brown of Morgantown, step-daughters: Debbie (Danny) Russell of Owensboro, Karen (Bobby) Caywood of Mt. Sterling, and Susan (Rick) Morris of Pleasant Ridge, grandchildren; Jennifer Hamilton, Jason Hickey, Andrew Deese, Jake Deese, Skylar Brown and a great-grandchild and two nieces.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 18, 2009 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday from 3 to 8 p.m. and after 8:30 a.m. Friday. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
