Avis Natalie Lanham

Avis "Natalie" Lanham, 89, of Owensboro, passed away Saturday, January 17, 2015 at the Heartford House. She was born August 29, 1925 in Stanley to the late Frank and Ella Hundley Winstead. Natalie was married to Marvin "Bill" Lanham on April 29, 1961 until his death in 1994. She has been a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church for over 50 years and had worked at General Electric for 19 years.. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Jane Lanham Tafoya.

Natalie had such a wonderful and funny sense of humor. She loved her children and grandchildren and spending time with them. She was a dedicated U.K. basketball fan and enjoyed playing cards and bingo, and in her younger days, bowling. Although she will be missed dearly, she lived her life in preparation for death and was ready for her journey to Heaven.

Surviving are her daughter, Phyllis Hayes and husband Kenny of Eufala, AL, her son, Brad Lanham and wife Kathy of Owensboro, six grandchildren, Jarrod Hayes, Neil Lanham, Jamie Lanham, Kelly Lanham, Rachel Tafoya, and Natalie Tafoya, a son-in-law, John Tafoya, sisters, Eleanor "Ruth" Marks of Owensboro and Carol James and husband Roger of Owensboro, a brother, Charles Winstead of Owensboro, and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 20, at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Monday with prayers at 6:00 P.M. and after 9:00 A.M. Tuesday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
