Austin Ramsey Martin

Austin R. "Audie" Martin, 62, of Owensboro, was escorted by Heaven's angels to his new home on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at 2:43 p.m. He was born September 3, 1948 to Austin R. Martin and Elizabeth Mercer Martin Schmidt; was owner and operator of Audie's Vinyl, Inc.; and was co-director of Word and Spirit Ministry Center. He enjoyed being with family, hunting, golfing, beekeeping, watching UK basketball and talking about Jesus whether on the job or the golf course, in the "bait shop" (Sportsman's Headquarters) or in the bush country of Kenya, Africa.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, parents and brother-in-law, Bob Moore.

Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Karen Keller Martin of Owensboro; daughters, Lisa (Jason) Hagan, Catina (Geary) Jennings, Amy (Chad) Hardin, and Ashley Martin; his step-children, Hayley (Chris) Morris and Byron (Sara) Mills all of Owensboro; 11 grandchildren, Brittiany (Luke) Reynolds, Jake Singleton, Landon Carbon, Gavin and Gracie Jennings, Jaxon and Sarah Hardin, Dylan White and Isaiah Stewart, Brinley and Lilah Morris; one great-granddaughter, Aliyah Reynolds; siblings, Becky (Corky) Teasley and Patty Moore both of Owensboro, and Jimmy Martin of Fordsville; one uncle Lindy (Abbie) Mercer; and several nieces and nephews, especially Travis Martin.

Visitation will be Monday, May 9, 2011 from 3-8 p.m. and from 1-2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 in Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. A celebration of Audie's life will be 2 p.m. on Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with burial following at 978 Willie Simmons Road, Fordsville.
