Augusta McQuary Weisenberger, 92, of Owensboro passed away Monday, June 8, 2009 at the Owensboro Medical Health System. Born in Ohio County on July 19, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Thomas E. and Stella Mills McQuary; was retired from the Bureau of Reclamation in Denver, CO; and was a member of Buena Vista Baptist Church. Mrs. Weisenberger returned to Owensboro in 1987 after 40 years in Colorado working for the federal government. She enjoyed reading, caring for her cats and other animals; and was committed to her church where she was very involved with the Women on Mission. She was also a longtime member of the Republican Women's Club. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband in 1971; brothers, Thomas R. McQuary, William L. McQuary, and Marvin McQuary; sisters, Ella Mae McQuary and Virginia Daniel; and a niece, Dianne Scott.
She is survived by nieces and nephews: Janet Taylor of Philpot, Marie Coldiron of Danville, Carl Ray Daniel of Ft. Worth, Eddie Daniel of Pleasant Ridge, Thomas McQuary of Irvington, and Lynne Espinoza of Colorado; and several great nieces and nephews
Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at Glenn Funeral Home followed by burial in Bells Run Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Missions of Love or Samaritan's Purse.
