Audrey Lewellen Brown Swihart, 92, of Masonville, passed from this life to a better life with Jesus, Tuesday, September 28, 2010. Audrey was born in Owensboro July 21, 1918 to the late Maggie (Powell) and John Frank Lewellen. She was a member of Sugar Grove Baptist Church, and church secretary since 1982, a Kentucky Colonel, member of Golden Partners, and she retired from General Electric and Ken Rad after 45 years. Two daughters also preceded her in death, Kathy Jo Swihart in 1956 and Susan Brown in 1937, five brothers and five sisters.
Surviving are two sons, James W. (Linda) Brown of Livermore, and Barry A. (Susan Kennedy) Swihart of Lexington, Kentucky, two granddaughters, Julee Swihart of Gainsville, FL., and Ashlyn Swihart of Knoxville, TN.,a grandson, James D. Brown of Titusville, PA., a great-grandson, Eric Brown, and a sister-in-law, Jane Cecil both of Owensboro.
Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. and after 9a.m. Saturday. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Sugar Grove Baptist Church.
