Audrey Mary Gold

Sister Audrey Mary Gold, 67, of Owensboro, went to be with the Lord on November 28, 2014. Sister Audrey was born in Buffalo, NY on February 21, 1947 to the late Howard and Catherine Croty Gold. She graduated from Dominican College in Blauvelt, NY in 1970 and became a member of The Sisters of the Lamb of God in 1971. Sister Audrey was also a teacher and a bookkeeper. She held positions in teaching at the Corpus Christi School in Rochester NY, Holy Family kindergarten in Owensboro, and The Mary Carrico School in Knotsville, and was the bookkeeper at the Bishop Soenneker home. Sister Audrey was instrumental in starting the Owensboro areas Christian Appalachian Project . She orchestrated the collection of donated items from Owensboro and then helped transport them to the Appalachian area for dispersal.

Survivors include her sister, Karen (Ed) Harrington of Lakeville, NY; brother, Ronnie (Judy) Harris of Delevan, NY; and a nephew, Brian Harrington of Rochester, NY.


The funeral mass will be held 10 am Monday December 1, 2014 at Immaculate Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 pm on Sunday and after 9 am on Monday. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
