Audrey E. Baird

Audrey Baird, 82, of 1227 Moreland Ave., Owensboro, died Thursday, September 19, 2002 at Owensboro Mercy Health System. She was born in Bridgeport, Conn., on January 25, 1920 the daughter of Charles S. and Emily Waitz Borger.

Mrs. Baird was a homemaker and a member of Parrish Avenue Baptist Church and Elizabeth Munday Senior Center and taught Sunday school for many years. She was a Navy veteran of World War II, served with Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service. She enjoyed swimming, crafts and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include a son, Scott Allen Baird of Owensboro; a daughter, Carolyn Baird Elliott of Owensboro; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Charles Sumner Borger of Eatontown, NJ.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 21, 2002 at Glenn Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Reverend Don James. Burial will follow in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 20, 2002 and after 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
