Audley E. Cox, 79, of 2710 West Sixth Street, Owensboro, died Sunday, June 25, 2006 at Harborside Healthcare. The Butler County native was born to the late Walter and Ivy (Johnson) Cox, and was also preceded in death by three brothers, Nelson, Denzel and W.L. Cox. He was a retired heavy equipment operator for Owensboro Brick and Tile, and attended Garden Green Baptist Church. He was a citizens band radio operator and his handle was Blue Ford.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Margaret (Roberts) Cox, a son, Robert Clifton Cox , daughters, Diane Hagan, Sherry Duncan, and Victoria Rhineburger, all of Owensboro, a brother, Odell of Hartford, and brothers Clavard and Wayvard, and a sister Norma Embry, all of Owensboro, ten grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 6 step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 28, 2006 at Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Milton Hadden, officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 to 8 p.m. and also after 9 a.m. Wednesday.
