Arthur Newton Jr., 81, passed away June 16, 2016 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Born September 10, 1934 to the late Arthur Newton Sr. and Meta Miller Newton, Arthur was a man of many talents. He served in the National Guard and later became a Surgical Technician at Daviess County Hospital and after 38 years, he retired. Arthur was an avid gun enthusiast, reloader, hunter, and was in the movie The Kentuckian playing cards with Jr Goins. He is preceded in death by his wife, Alma Ann Riley Newton; his only son, James A. Newton; and brothers, Kenneth Newton and Bobby Newton.
He is survived by daughters, Susan Lohr, Karen Kasey and her husband Ronald; grandchildren, Shawn Newton and his wife, Margaret; Jennifer Newton Logsdon and her husband Adam, James Early, and Justin Harris; great-grandchildren, Christopher Newton, McKenzie Newton, Ashton Newton, Ally Newton, Lilly Page Early, Gage Logsdon, and Emily Logsdon; and sister Cathy Pike and her husband Andy.
Services will be 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
