Arthur Edward Lyle

Arthur Edward Lyle, Jr., 64, of Owensboro passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at the Owensboro Medical Health System. Born in Muhlenberg County on June 15, 1946, he was the son of the late Arthur and Earlean Vincent Lyle; was the owner/operator of Lyle's Roofing; and was a member of the Thruston United Methodist Church. Mr. Lyle was a loving, caring father, brother, and grandfather. He enjoyed hunting and was an avid NASCAR fan, especially of Dale Earnhart. He had also sponsored a car driven by his son at the Whitesville Speedway. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his fiancee', Robyn Butler; a daughter, Terry Lynn Lyle; and a brother, Frank Locke.

Surviving are his children, Crystal Sapp, Melinda Lyle, Angela Lyle, Rodney (Michelle) Lyle, Tony Lyle, and Paul Sapp all of Owensboro, Art (Margaret) Lyle of Rockport and Kathy (Michael) Jarvis of Greenville; brothers and sisters, Tommy Lyle, Janice (Kelly) Burris and Russell Locke of Owensboro, Butch (Becky) Locke of Lewisport, Phillip (Debra) Locke of Maceo, Charlie Locke of Eastern KY, and Carol (Jeff) Jackson of Philpot; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Services are 2 p.m. Friday, September 10, 2010 in the Chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Carol Owen officiating followed by burial in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Thursday and after 9:30 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
