Arnold “Arnie” Weiner, 81, of Owensboro, passed away on Wednesday November 13, 2024 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. He was born January 7, 1943 in Worcester, Massachusetts to the late Benjamin and Eva Entin Weiner. Arnie was a graduate of California State University in Los Angeles, California receiving his Masters degree and was retired from the Los Angeles Unified School District as an administrator. Arnie was quite a musician playing his Martin guitar. He recorded several Folk music C D’s in which he composed the songs and music. Arnie performed in various places in Owensboro including nursing homes, the Daviess County Public Library, and at “Live On The Banks” at the riverfront and included Cabernet performances. He was a kind, compassionate, and caring human being and always had a positive outlook on life. Arnie was a self-proclaimed “Ole Time Hippie” and was also a regular at Beef O”Brady’s where he and Gail ate everyday, twice a day. Arnie was also preceded in death by his wife, Eileen Bowman Weiner.
Surviving are his daughter, Rebecca Weiner Parm of Owensboro; his companion, Gail Wainstein of Owensboro; three grandchildren, Michael Gilmer, and Jasmine and Dakira Parm, all of Owensboro; and a sister, Suzanne McClelland of Citrus Heights, California.
Funeral services will be 4 PM Sunday, November 17 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 2 PM until the time of the service Sunday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
