Arnold Roberts

Arnold Roberts, 86, of Owensboro left this life for his eternal reward, January 16, 2017 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born in Daviess County to the late Otto and Sudie Barnett Roberts. He married his true love, Norma Jean Wiggins, January 16, 1954. Arnold served his country in the United States Army, and was ordained a Baptist Minister August 9, 1959. He served as pastor of Poplar Grove Baptist Church, Rumsey Baptist Church, Station Baptist Church and Brushy Fork Baptist Church. For 58 years, Arnold, operated Roberts Trim Shop. He was currently a member of South Hampton Baptist Church where he had taught the Adult Sunday School Class for 20 years.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Norma Jean Roberts; daughters, Kathy Roberts and Denise Hill and her husband, Mark; son, Eric Roberts and his wife, Jennifer; grandchildren, Ericka Roach (Alex), Blake Roberts and Bradley Roberts; brother, Carl Roberts; sister, Julia Alvey; sister-in-law, Wanda Newcomb (Jerry); and several nieces and nephews.

The family would sincerely like to thank the doctors and nurses of Owensboro Health Regional Hospital for their kind and compassionate care they showed both Arnold and the Roberts family during his lengthy stay there.

Services will be at Noon Wednesday in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be in South Hampton Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday and after 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Gideon's or the Sunrise Children's Home.
