Arnold D. Grant

Arnold Daniel Grant of Owensboro, aged 83, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, October 11, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was born on February 17, 1942, in Louisville, Kentucky, to Clifford Arnold and Katherine Doerr Grant. His life on earth was marked by good and faithful service to God, his family, and his country. His eternal life in heaven has just begun.

He married the love of his life, Beverly Thompson Grant, on June 8, 1968. In 57 years together they raised four children, welcomed and loved many more as their own, and delighted in six beloved grandchildren with pride and joy.

As an Airman First Class, Arnold served four years in the United States Air Force with assignments in Germany and London. In 2022, he enjoyed a life-changing trip to Washington, D.C. with Honor Flight of Southern Indiana.

Arnold worked at Willamette Industries paper mill in Hawesville for 35 years, retiring as a power plant operator and union treasurer. He was a faithful member, deacon, and finance secretary of Greater Vision Baptist Church, and a current member of Harvest Baptist Church. He generously gave of his time, talent, and treasure and read his Bible every day. On Sundays, he gave $1 bills to children to drop in the offering plate.

Arnold was loyal, dependable, considerate, and kind. He loved children (especially babies), his truck, solving crosswords and playing solitaire, planting tomatoes, yard work and home improvement projects, watching Wheel of Fortune and three local news broadcasts each day, sweet tea, Raisinets, and plain vanilla ice cream. He personally trusted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and hopes you will do the same.

Arnold is survived by his wife, Beverly; daughter and son-in-law Heather and Ronnie Bartlett of Owensboro; son and daughter-in-law Jason and Donna Layton Grant of Newburgh, Indiana; son and daughter-in-law Justin and Deanna Stephens Grant of Soddy-Daisy, Tennessee; son and son-in-law Caymon Grant Lowery and Caleb Lowery of Ferdinand, Indiana; and grandchildren Tyler (Kamryn Guerzini Grant) and Grace Grant, Emeline and Claudia Bartlett, and Lauren and Ella Grant.

A celebration of life will take place on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Glenn Funeral Home, 900 Old Hartford Road, with same day visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Entombment with military honors will follow at Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
