Archie E. Yawn

Mr. Archie E. Yawn, age 75 passed away on August 15, 2015 under the care of Western Kentucky Hospice. He was born on October 24, 1939 in Tifton, Georgia to the late Lonnie and Anna Ruth (Cheek) Yawn.

Archie served twenty years and nine days in the U.S. Coast Guard; he was of the Baptist Faith, member of the American Legion Post 9, Yellow Banks Masonic Lodge 957. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren, grilling, fishing, was an avid UK fan, after retirement from the Coast Guard he worked for Green Coal Company.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years: Betty (Hertzer) Yawn, daughters: Terry Lynn (Jim Decker) Keller of Owensboro, Shelia Pope of Mobile, Al; Rhonda Jean (Lee) Adamson of McDonough, GA; sons: Michael W. Yawn of Owensboro; Lance P. Yawn of Owensboro; brothers: Levis (Betty) Yawn of Silk Hope, GA; Scotty (Donna) Yawn of Savannah, GA; sisters: Runette Parker of Richmond Hill, GA; Elouise Williams of Savannah, GA. Grandchildren: Tiffany, Shaun, Jona, Chase, Savannah. 7 great grandchildren.

Archie was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Wilbur, Glenn, Larry (LE) Yawn, grandchild: Danna Boyd, and great grandchild: Grace Dupree.

Funeral services will be Wednesday August 19, 2015 at 12:00pm at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with visitation Tuesday August 18, 2015 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm, also on Wednesday from 10:00am till time of service. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Expression of sympathy in the form of donations can be made to Western Kentucky Hospice. Condolences may be left for the family at www.glennfuneralhome.com
