Arabella Rey Dempsey, age 5, of Owensboro, departed from this world on Monday, July 8, surrounded by those closest to her. Born in Cincinnati, OH on August 16, 2018, to Palmer and Lisa Dempsey, Arabella brought light and joy to all who knew her.
Arabella's vibrant personality shone through every moment of her short but impactful life. Sweet, funny, and confident in her uniqueness, she was a precious soul who exuded strength and resilience beyond her years. She tackled every challenge with determination and a spirit that inspired all those around her. Despite obstacles and limitations, Arabella never let anything hold her back. Her proudest accomplishments were a testament to her unwavering spirit - she fearlessly pursued things that others thought impossible for her.
In her brief time on this earth, Arabella created countless cherished memories that will be forever treasured by her family and friends. From trips to the beach, Niagara Falls, and Target, of course, she lived life to the fullest and embraced each moment with enthusiasm and wonder. She had a love for food and trying new things, but would never turn down a snow cone, ice cream, banana pudding, or broccoli and cheese soup. Arabella's hobbies reflected her joyful nature - from watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, especially in the mornings, to stacking and organizing items with meticulous care. She found comfort in routine, the company of her musical cow, visits to grandma and grandpa's house, the Bridgestone Tire commercial, scrolling, indulging in cake decorating videos, and getting lost in the art of sand art. Dance parties were a regular occurrence in Arabella's world. Although she had a love/hate relationship with Taylor Swift, a dance party never failed to bring out her inner Swifty and her unmistakable, adorable belly laugh.
Arabella Dempsey, affectionately known as Bells, Bella Bootie, Super Bella, Squirt, Bellasaurus, Tator Tot, BellaBoo, Bucky Beaver, Spicy Chicken Nugget, Bellsers, and more, will live on through the countless lives she touched and the love she so freely shared with all who knew her.
Those left to cherish Arabella’s memory include her loving parents, Palmer and Lisa Dempsey; sister, Kylee Dempsey; grandparents, Dennis and Anna Hardesty, and Paul Sr. and Joni Cecil; aunt, Jessica McMamara (Tom); uncles, Paul Cecil Jr. (Dr. Isabelle Ying), John Miles (Vicki), and David Miles; as well as many cousins, friends, and chosen family members.
The funeral service for Arabella will be 2 PM Sunday, July 14, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be Saturday from 2 PM until 8 PM and Sunday 11 AM until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Cincinnati, 341 Erkenbrecher Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45229.
