Antoinette L. Watkins

Antoinette L. Watkins, 96, of Owensboro, passed away at home on Tuesday June 18th. 2013. She was born on January 10th 1917, in Owensboro to the late Nick and Bertha Goetz. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her spouse, LeRoy S. Watkins on January 27, 1997; six brothers, Martin, Albert, John, Thomas, Norbert, and Richard Goetz; and two sisters, Marie Allen and Bettye McEuen.

Antoinette was a hard working woman of many talents. She was a homemaker, who loved cooking, gardening, reading, sewing and needlework. She was also part of the family business at Watkins nursery and assisted with the day to day operations.


She is survived by three sons, Robert (Sandy), Don (Shirley), and Bruce (Jeannie)Watkins and two daughters, Linda and Jean (Bob) Patterson; thirteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Anneliese Goetz; and 24 nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory on Friday June 21st. The funeral mass will be conducted at 12:05 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes with burial to follow at Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
