Anthony Evans

Anthony Marcus "Mick" Evans, Sr., 76, of Stanley, Kentucky passed away on December 17, 2011 at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born in Daviess County to the late Jordan and Mary Evans.

Anthony was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict.

He retired from the U.S. Postal Service after more than 30 years of service as a letter carrier. Anthony was a Kentucky Colonel. He loved playing music and singing, watching thoroughbred horse racing, raising pigeons and spending time in the garden.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Don, James "Chick", Jerry and Larry Evans.

Anthony is survived by his wife of 52 years, Martha Evans; 6 sons, Tony Evans (Sonya) of Owensboro, Ron Evans (Brenda) of Owensboro, Michael Evans (Janet) of Stanley, Daniel Evans of Owensboro, Gary Evans (Theresa) of Utica and Robert Evans of Owensboro; 3 brothers, Jordan "June" Evans of Philpot, Cecil Evans (Joanne) of Scottsdale, AZ and Darrell Evans (Cindy) of Lewisport; 3 sisters, Mildred Gerteisen of Owensboro, Charlotte Tansey (Frank) of Rockaway Township, NJ and Bettie Buckman (Andrew) of Owensboro; 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

The funeral service will be at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Rev. Steve Evans will officiate. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2:00 pm until service time at the funeral home.
