Annette Wadley

Annette Wadley, 93, formerly of 10 C Quail Ridge Court in Owensboro, died August 25, 2014 in Raymore, MO. She was born in Texas County, OK on January 30, 1921 to the late H.E. and Alma Dooley King.

She was a faithful servant of the Lord for many years. She served along with her husband in the mission field and pastorate including Eastern and Western Kentucky, North Dakota, Wyoming and Oklahoma. Mrs. Wadley was a member of First Baptist Church, Owensboro. She was a wonderful homemaker who loved and cared for her husband and four children. Mrs. Wadley was an avid reader and seamstress and enjoyed playing dominos with family and friends. She loved traveling and visiting her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Wadley had the gift of hospitality and was always happy to prepare a good meal for anyone that visited her home.

She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 70 years, Rev. Mearl D. Wadley and three siblings.

Mrs. Wadley is survived by her children, Bruce (Diane) Wadley of Statesboro, GA, Yvonne (David) Slaughter of Owensboro, Phyllis (Wayne) Buck of Peculiar, MO, and Mary (Paul) Konrad of Gillette, WY; ten grandchildren, Tina Slaughter Pugel, Mark Slaughter, Teresa Wadley Wilson, Christopher Wadley, Kevin Wadley, Jeremy Buck, Chad Buck, Melissa Buck Jeffries, Jason Ostlund and Jordan Ostlund; and numerous great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM on Friday, August 29 at the chapel in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Dr. Mark Slaughter will officiate. Visitation will be from 11 AM until 1 PM on Friday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund.
