Annette "Ann" Blais, 89, of Owensboro, formerly of Harwich, MA, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at her home. She was born in Nashua, N. H., and had worked as an executive secretary for several different companies. She was a member of Settle Memorial United Methodist Church and a former member of the Pilgrim Congregational Church in Harwich. She enjoyed being with her knitting group from Settle Memorial every week, flower gardening, and golfing. She also had been a volunteer for the Red Cross in Hyannis, MA, was a fan of the New England Patriots football team and the Boston Red Sox baseball team, and dearly loved her dog Breezy. She was a graduate of Colby-Sawyer College in New London, N. H. She was preceded in death by her husband, George A. Blais in October of 1997, her parents Albert H. and Lizzie Burtt Caldwell, and a sister, Linda VanDaGriff on May 1, 1982.
Surviving are her nieces and nephews, Elaine V. Howard of Owensboro, Richard Bansavich, Elaine Davis, Carol Swanson, and Linda Bansavich, all of Connecticut, and John Bansavich of California, a great niece Julie Swift and husband Wayne of Philpot, a great nephew Tim Howard and wife Beth of Lexington, great great nieces and nephews, Anne Thomas Howard, Olivia Howard, Mary Lorn Howard, Evan, Emily, and Matthew Swift, and a sister-in-law, Phyllis Bansavich of Hartford, CT.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Saturday, June 6 at Glenn Funeral Home. Private services will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
