Anne Maxson Childs, 89, of Owensboro, passed away at her home on Tuesday, September 24th. She was preceded in death by Clayton Childs, whom she married in 1945.
A staunch Republican, she was also an avid sports fan - especially loyal to the Atlanta Braves. But she was most ferociously loyal to any team on which her grandchildren played, attending all of their games and "coaching" from the bleachers.
She loved to sew, knit and crochet and many of her works will be handed down for years to come.
She was loved, cared for and survived by her son, James Childs, her daughter, Linda Overby (Joe), her four grandchildren: Drew (Amy), Jordan (Jen), Lindsey and Maxson (John), and three great-granchildren, Reise, Coby and Nina.
She lived a long and fulfilled life. She will be missed.
Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday and from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. Friday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Services will be private. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to The Wendell Foster's Campus.
