Annabel Doll-Rakoczy

Annabel Doll-Rakoczy, 79, passed away Monday, January 15, 2024, at Wellington Parc Health Systems. The New York City native was born April 4, 1944, to the late George R. Doll and Candida Torres Doll and spent most of her early life in Puerto Rico. Annabel was a master gardener and worked as a legal secretary while she went to school to get her master’s degree in education and teaching certification. She was an ESL teacher in the Rochester, New York city school district retiring in 1997. Annabel was also an expert bread dough artist, taught tatting (lace making) and knitting, and cooked amazing soups, dinners, and salsas with all the ingredients coming from her own vast garden. Nana, as she was affectionately called, will be missed greatly.     

In addition to her parents, Annabel also was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Rakoczy in 2022.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Christopher Poynter, his wife Barbara, and their children, Ethan & Cassidy Poynter; a brother & sister also survive her.
