Anna Wilkerson

Anna Louise Wilkerson, 92, of Owensboro, Kentucky, went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 17, 2016. She was born in Daviess County on February 21, 1924, to the late William Mark and Georgie Stinnett Rhodes. Anna was a woman of God and an active lifetime member of First Baptist Church. Family was extremely important to Anna, she left many sweet memories of homemade dumplings, chocolate and coconut pies, and Sunday family gatherings filled with fun and laughter.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Hueston H. Wilkerson; brothers, Junius and J.C. Rhodes, and sisters Christine Potts.


She is survived by her daughters, Sharon Warren and husband David of Owensboro, Pam Bartlett and husband Boyd of Utica, and Sandy Phillabaum and husband Jim of Springfield, Missouri; grandchildren, Kellie Hansen (Adam), Matt Warren (Julie), Brandon Bartlett, Lynsey Hamilton (Aaron), Taylor Phillabaum (Ashley Brown), and Jordan Markley (Milz); great-grandchildren, Kelsie and Jake Hansen, Elizabeth and Will Warren, and Haley and Hayden Hamilton; and special friends Mattie and Gerald Jones.

The family wishes to acknowledge the Carmelite Sisters and staff at the Carmel home for their excellent care of their mother.

Services will be noon, Monday, September 19, 2016, with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. Monday morning at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Dr. Paul Strahan will officiate the service. Entombment will follow at Owensboro Memorial Gardens.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of a donation to the First Baptist Church Building Fund.
