Anna Mae "Ann" Peveler, 91, of Owensboro, passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at her home. She was born August 30, 1924 in McLean Co., to the late John and Martine Howard Carpenter. Ann was retired from S. W. Anderson Co. having worked in the men's department. She was a charter member of Masonville Baptist Church and enjoyed crocheting and embroidery work. She also was an avid Atlanta Braves and U. K. basketball fan.
Ann was also preceded in death by her husband, John D. Peveler on October 1, 1970, a son, John D. Peveler, Jr. on August 21, 2009, two brothers, Frank Carpenter in 1991 and Doug Carpenter in 2000, and a son-in-law, James Medcalf on June 14, 2013.
Surviving are a daughter, Shirley Medcalf of Owensboro, three grandchildren, Kevin (Leslie) Peveler of Owensboro, Amy (Harold Reed) Drooker of Atlanta, GA, and Jeremy (Kari) Medcalf of Whitesville, five great grandchildren, Madallyn and Jake Peveler, Isabelle Drooker, Jade and Lane Medcalf, a sister, Juanita Bradshaw of Livermore, a sister-in-law, Renetta Carpenter of Masonville, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 27, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday and after 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
