Anna Lee Midkiff

Anna Lee Midkiff, 89, of 2633 St. Ann St., passed away on Friday, February 1, 2008 at Auburn Healthcare in Auburn, Ky. She was born in Daviess Co., to the late John L. and Gertrude Smith Mattingly. She was retired as Secretary/Treasurer of the former Owensboro Tire Service, Inc. and was a member of First Baptist Church. She was a member of the General Evan Shelby Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, a past Historian of the D.A.R., life member of the Kentucky Parent Teachers Assoc., member of the West Central Kentucky Family Research Assoc. where she had served as President, former secretary of the Senior Adult Ministries at First Baptist and Young At Heart, and was a Ky. Colonel. She was a geneology enthusiast and a graduate of Owensboro Business College. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Marvin A. Midkiff in 1985, and her son and daughter-in-law, Bruce A. Midkiff in 2005 and Carolyn Midkiff in 2003.

Surviving is her daughter, Joyce Gibbs and husband Jack of Spring Hill, Fla., four grandchildren, Keith Gibbs of Cadiz, Kecia Whittaker of Bowling Green, Kerry Gibbs of Monroe, N. C., and John Allen Midkiff of Tallahassee, Fla., and four great grandchildren.

Services will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 5, at the Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be after 10:00 A.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may go to the St. Judes Children's Research Hospital, Memorial Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN. 38105-1942.
