Anna Virginia DeMar Keller, 98, formerly of Stanley, died Tuesday, November 3, 2009, at Hermitage Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was born August 17, 1911 to the late Henry and Eucharia Price DeMar in Daviess County. She was a member of St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church, was a homemaker, and enjoyed quilting, playing bingo, working crossword puzzles, and had a gift of gab.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Keller in 1995, a daughter, Sue Girten in 2000, a granddaughter, Sandi Girten in 1980, and a grandson, Gerald Girten in 1958; five brothers, Tom, Conrad, Jack, Raymond, and Lawrence DeMar, two sisters, Bessie Fogle and Gerry Scudder.
Survivors include her children, James (Mary) Keller, Philip (Judy) Keller, both of Stanley, Anita (James) Fogle, Libby Girten, Dona (Tom) Calhoun, Gerry Hamburg, all of Owensboro, and Martha (Barin) Bolin of Clearwater, SC; 30 grandchildren, 80 great-grandchildren, and 22 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be 11:00 AM Friday, at St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church with burial in St. Peter Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday, with prayers at 7:00 PM at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation Friday morning will be after 9:00 AM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church Bldg. Fund, 81 Church Street, Owensboro, KY 42301.
