Anna Louise Howard Weldon

Anna Louise Howard Weldon, 93, of Owensboro, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at the Carmel Home. She was born on May 8, 1932, in Daviess County, to the late Clarence and Carmel Greenwell Howard.

Louise was retired from Owensboro Mercy Hospital where she worked as a registered nurse. She was a long-time member of the Immaculate Catholic Church with her husband, George. Louise was a devoted wife for 67 years, and a kind, caring and generous mother. She enjoyed shopping with her loving husband, travel, ballroom dancing, and crafts.

Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, George Weldon Jr.; a sister, Elizabeth “Sis” Bickett; and a brother, Joseph Douglas Howard.

Louise is survived by her children, Laura “Red” Sandlin (married to Mark Sandlin) of Decatur, GA, David G. Weldon (married to Kathryn Weldon) of Woodlands, TX, and Lisa Weldon Phelan (late husband Jim Phelan) of Owensboro, KY; siblings, Martha Rose Hagan, Evelyn (Dob) Millay, Lillian Edge, and Patsy (Ernie) Mayfield.

The memorial Mass for Louise Weldon will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday May 12, 2026, at Immaculate Catholic Church with visitation starting at 9 a.m. prior to the Mass. The ennichment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
