Anna Marie Hobbs, age 78, passed away on March 4, 2014, in Sebring, FL. She was born November 4, 1935 in Hopkinsville, KY to the late Arthur Joseph and Gertrude "Bridget" Burden Mitchell.
Anna Marie was a nature lover who enjoyed exploring the world around her. She possessed a gift that allowed her to capture nature in her many paintings, which often depicted the birds she enjoyed watching and studying. Her travels with her husband Bob, often in their RV, ranged throughout North America, from Alaska and Canada to Mexico. She enjoyed arts and crafts, sewing, and boating. Her recent interests included Bridge with her friends, trips to the casino, and taking nature drives. She was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church in Sebring.
She is survived by her husband Dr. Robert J. Hobbs; her children Kathy Reid (Billy) and Sharon Hobbs, both Owensboro; her grandchildren, Valerie Marie Reel (Martin), Alexea Carrico (Tim), Brad Reid, Katherine "Katie" Ann Reid, Tyler Hobbs, Gracie Hobbs and her great grandchildren Lauren Carrico, Bella Reece Reel, Paizley Reel, and Arianna Hobbs.
The funeral service will be at 10 AM on Saturday, March 15 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Father Tony Jones will officiate. Burial will be at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4-8 PM on Friday and after 9 AM on Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Johns James Audubon State Park or a donation of the donor's choice.
