Anna Pickrell Hart was born on Valentine's Day of 1919 in Knottsville, Kentucky to Anna Beatta and Herman Leo Pickrell. She returned home into the arms of her Savior on the eve of her 91st birthday, February 13, 2010 in Palm City, FL. She died enveloped in the love of her family; James L. (Michele) Hart, Geraldine (Donald) Martinez, Joseph C. (Adina) Hart, Christopher L. (Kathy) Hart, Sharon Cecil Hart, Rebecca Richards Hart, her dearly loved sister, Mabel Cleo Miller, 13 cherished grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband, James Evan Hart; infant daughter, Phyllis Ann; two beloved children, William Evan and Jan Michael, and her dear grandson, John William.
Ann took great pride in her career as a hairdresser, which spanned many decades. Lifelong friendships were forged in the beauty shop on Parrish Ave at Walnut. Ann, affectionately called Ann-Mom by her grandchildren, was also known as an excellent cook, winning praise from all her family and friends. When time and weather allowed she could be found in her yard pulling weeds and pruning her roses. She loved to dance and her children recall how she would sing little tunes throughout the day. She became an accomplished pool player surprising her young rivals. All who knew Ann understood that she was a woman of prayer and would storm heaven on their behalf. A devout Catholic, she enjoyed the warmth and fellowship of the Immaculate Parish community.
Ann will be remembered for her fierce allegiance to family and friends, her faithful service to God and fellow man, and her courage in seeking life and joy amidst the challenges of life.
We, Ann's family and friends, are grateful for the gift of her life and commend her to Our Heavenly Father.
