Mrs. Anna Davis Cox, 86, of Owensboro, died Tuesday, December 20, 2005 at Wellington Parc Owensboro. Born in Glenville, KY, a daughter of the late Alpha and Bertha Peak Ayer, Mrs. Cox retired as the switchboard operator at Texas Gas Transmission. A member of Settle Memorial United Methodist Church and the Mary Lou Phillips Sunday school class, she was a Kentucky Colonel and enjoyed gardening and traveling. She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer A. Cox, in 1999, her son, William Bill Cox in 1988, her brothers, Noble Ayer and Sam Ayer, and her sisters, Mary Duke Mitchell and Eva Haegele.
She is survived by her brother, Jean Ayer of Calhoun, several nieces and nephews, and will be dearly missed by Jill, Gary, and Katie Keller of Owensboro.
Services, officiated by the Rev. Todd Love, will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home, where visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the memorial funds of Settle Memorial United Methodist Church or the Mary Kendall Home.
