Anna Belle Boling, 94, of Owensboro, passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2009 at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born on May 7, 1914 in Daviess Co., Ky. to the late Allen and Lula Taylor Hagan. She became a Christian at an early age and attended Sunday School and church regularly. She was a member for over 30 years at the Rushing Chapel Methodist Church, taught Sunday School classes from youth to adult seniors. She was a charter member of the Women's Society of Christian Service, serving as president for several years. She enjoyed sponsoring Christmas programs. She became a member of Breckenridge St. United Methodist Church in 1972 and taught the Lula Townsley Sunday School class for a short time. Her hobbies were sewing, crocheting, raising flowers, and collecting little "Pitchers". She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Boling, a son, J. L. Boling, and a brother, A. W. Hagan.
Surviving are a son, William "Bill" Boling of Owensboro, a daughter, Katie Boling Morgan of Owensboro, six grandchildren, Connie Gibson, Lynn Jones, Joe Boling, Darlene Woosley, Jimmy Boling, and Scott Boling, six great grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren, a brother, Rev. Joseph Hagan of Owensboro, a sister, Louise Miller of Orange Springs, FL, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 12 Noon Thursday, February 5 at the Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday and after 9:00 A.M. Thursday.
Memorial contributions may be made to Breckenridge St. United Methodist Church or Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
