Ann Birk Stavis

Ann Birk Stavis passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at her home. Born in Owensboro, a daughter of the late William and Daisy Smith Birk, Mrs. Stavis was a graduate of Owensboro High School and attended Centre College and the University of Kentucky. A member of First Presbyterian Church, she had been active in The Women's Guild, the former Cotillion Club, and Impact 100. For many years she owned The Little Old Gift Shoppe. She was also preceded in death by her husband Ed Stavis in 2002.

Mrs. Stavis is survived by her daughter Holly Stavis Busch and her husband Ron of Clayton, MO; her sister Eleanor Sutton and her husband Harry, of Owensboro; and several cousins including Jane Stevenson of Owensboro and Bill Birk Taylor of Hilton Head, South Carolina.

The funeral service for Mrs. Stavis will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday and from 9:00 until 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the charity of one's choice.
