Ann Newton, 72, of Maceo, died Saturday, January 1, 2005 at her home. Born January 24, 1932 to the late Jack and Lora Mae Lynch Riley, Mrs. Newton retired as a the Medical Secretary for Drs. John and Marilyn Sanders. She was a member of the Salvation Army and had been a Girl Guard member as a young lady. She was also an X-ray technician, and loved to hunt and fish, play bingo, make crafts, read and hike.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Arthur Newton; a son, James Newton of Owensboro; two daughters, Susan Lohr and Karen Kasey both of Owensboro; four grandchildren, James Early of Statesboro, GA, Justin Harris of FL, Shawn Newton and Jenny Newton of Owensboro; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bill Riley and Sam Riley both of Owensboro; and a sister, Virginia Wood of Owensboro.
Funeral services are 1 P.M. Tuesday, Janaury 4, 2005 at Peace Chapel in Rosehill Cemetery. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be at Glenn Funeral Funeral Home from 10 A.M. to 1 P.M. Tuesday.
