Ann Kirk Husk, 84, of Owensboro passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at her home. Born in Habit on May 30, 1925, she was the daughter of the late William Otis and Lorena Shirley Coons Kirk; was retired from Mr. Jim's Beauty Salon where she was a hairdresser for 20 years; and was a member of the Apollo Heights Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Daviess County High School and the School of Beauty Culture in Bowling Green. Mrs. Husk enjoyed playing bingo, watching UK basketball, and spending time with her dogs, Pee-Wee and Jack. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Kirk, and great-grandchildren, Jayden Ulmer and Jaxon Spurrier.
Surviving are her husband of 39 years, Sterman Husk; children, Bob (Patty) Ulmer, Kerry (Sheila) Ulmer, and Deniese Ulmer (Aaron) Draeger all of Owensboro, and Kim Ulmer (Russ) Bugary of
Beavercreek, OH; grandchildren, Mandy Ulmer Blanton, Derek Ulmer, Justin Ulmer, Nathan Ulmer, Jonathan Spurrier, Jared Spurrier, Zachary Draeger, Evan Draeger, Brittany Bugary, and Preston Bugary; 5 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Sue Anderson of Owensboro.
Services are 12 noon Friday, March 12, 2010 in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Dr. Dennis McFadden officiating followed by burial in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Thursday and after 9 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
