Anita Marie Settles

Anita Marie Settles, 62, of Owensboro passed away Friday July 5, 2019 at Signature Healthcare at Hillcrest. Born July 1, 1957 in Owensboro to the late Charles E. Settles and Marguerite May Settles, Anita graduated from Apollo High School ('75) and supported herself by mowing yards, working at Carl's Drive-Inn, and then at MPD. She loved playing Bingo and was known to always keep her car spotless and loved talking on the phone. While she never married, Anita was a very selfless, loving and caring person and a devoted member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church.

Those left to cherish her memory include her six siblings, Charlie Settles (Sue), Scott Settles (Chrissy), Jeanie Settles Murphy (Donnie), Bonnie Settles Curtis (Lonnie), Marilyn Settles (John Staples), and Jennifer Settles Roberts (Gerald); 10 nieces and nephews: Wayne Curtis, Ben Murphy, Carmie Settles, Chris Murphy, Ashley Taylor, Kiera Hobbs, Cole Settles, Gavin Settles, Zak Bowlds, and Lexie Bowlds; many great nieces and nephews; several aunts and uncles.

The family would like to express special appreciation to her niece Ashley Taylor, doctors, nurses, and medical staff who have tenderly cared for Anita.

A funeral Mass for Anita Marie Settles will be 2 p.m. Monday at Blessed Mother Catholic Church. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with prayers at 7 p.m. and Monday from 1:00 p.m. till time of Mass at the church. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
