Anita A. Newman

Anita Ann Newman, 73, of Owensboro, died Friday, December 12, 2014 at her home. She was born in Madisonville, Kentucky to the late Jesse and Juanita Harmon.

Anita graduated from Central High School and in 1975 she graduated from Owensboro School for Practical Nursing. Following her work in nursing she spent twenty years in child care at First Baptist and Settle Memorial Churches. Anita was a member of Owensboro Christian Church. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, camping, traveling (especially to Florida) and most of all, spending time with family.

Anita was preceded in death by a son, Rodney Newman; her parents; and a brother, Wayne Harmon.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Bob W. Newman; daughters, Pamela Newman of Whitesville and Jill Huff of Owensboro; sons, Gregory Newman of Livermore and Toby Newman of Whitesville; eleven grandchildren; twenty five great-grandchildren; a sister, Linda Mattingly of Evansville; and a brother, Mark Harmon of Mt. Vernon, IN.

A graveside service will be held at 12 Noon Monday, December 15 at Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
No public visitation will be held at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
