Anita Louise McBride

Anita Louise McBride, 75, of Owensboro, died Friday, September 7, 2012 at the Carmel Home. A native of Mayfield , Kentucky, she was born September 14, 1936 to the late, Thomas and Bernice (Plater) Hobbs. Anita retired as a clerk and operator for BellSouth after 40 years. She was a good wife and mother, very active in her Immaculate Catholic Church Parish, and loved helping her husband working in their yard and flowers.

Surviving is her loving husband of 51 years, David McBride, sons; Martin David McBride and Kelly Jude McBride, daughters; Dawn Marie and Dr. Charles Milem and Beth and Tony Draeger, grandchildren; Rebekah West, Hannah, A.J., and Layne Draeger, Charlie, Catherine, Christian, Corrie, and Caleb Milem, and great-grandson; Elijah West, all of Owensboro, brothers; Thomas Merritt Hobbs of Owensboro, John Hobbs of Atlanta Ga, James R. Hobbs of Jackson, Tn, and Stephen L. Hobbs of Paducah, Ky.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday at Immaculate Catholic Church with Rev. Tony Jones officiating. Entombment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 1 to 6:30 p.m. with prayers at 6:30 p.m. and visitation after 10 a.m. Monday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Care Net Pregnancy Center of Owensboro, or to the building fund of the Carmel Home.
