Angela Thompson Nunn

Angela Thompson Nunn passed away peacefully on October 19, 2023, surrounded by her family. Mother of one but a teacher to many, her impact on students aged 6-18 leaves a greatly admired legacy. In 42 years of teaching children at St. Joseph Parochial School in Bowling Green, Ohio County Middle and High Schools in Hartford, and Breckinridge Elementary in Lexington, her recognition as the “Teacher of the Year” for the Diocese of Owensboro demonstrates the significance and impact of her contribution to Kentucky children.

Born in Utica, Kentucky, May 3, 1953, Angela was raised in a family that valued education, hard work, and deep faith in God. She passed these values on to her daughter and son-in-law, Catherine and Pat, whom she taught at St. Joseph, as well as her grandsons, Hamilton and Wade, whom she played a significant role in their childhood.

Angela is preceded in death by her parents Mary Catherine Reisz Thompson and Ronald Thompson, sister, Rebecca Thompson Rogney, and survived by her brothers and sisters Mary Ronald Thompson Walter (John), Kathy Thompson Yeiser (Ken), Marilyn Thompson (Neal), Mark Thompson (Pam), Michael Thompson (Cindy), Byron Thompson, and many valued and loved nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

Private services will be held for immediate family.
