Amelia Genon Stovall McDonald, 93, of Owensboro, passed away on Monday, January 2, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 20, 1923 in Muhlenburg Co., to the late Althe and Dovie Noffsinger Stovall. Amelia was a member of Yellow Creek Baptist Church where she served on various committees. She was retired from General Electric after 43 years. She was a member of the Maceo Quilting Club, loved all animals, and was an awesome mother and mother-in-law. Amelia was also preceded in death by her husband, Melvin McDonald on October 12, 1991, two sisters, Gaynell Stovall and Agnes Stovall, and two brothers, Hartsel and Charles A. Stovall.
Surviving are two daughters, Sharon McDonald Fulkerson and husband Fred and Becky McDonald Christian and husband Tony and two sons, Terry McDonald (Patty Smith) and Steven McDonald and wife Linda, all of Owensboro, five grandsons, Jeff (Brandi) McDonald, Jarrod (Emmy) McDonald, Justin (Reiko) McDonald, Nathan (Sarah) McDonald, and Chandler Christian, all of Owensboro, eight great grandchildren, two sisters, Nancy Redfern and husband Clarence of Owensboro and Alnetta Steele and husband Jimmy of South Carrolton, and a brother, Bob Stovall and wife Linda of Calhoun.

Services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday January 4, at Yellow Creek Baptist Church with burial following in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 3:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory and after 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at Yellow Creek Baptist Church.
