Alvin Thomas Lewis, 79, of 922 Piedmont Drive, died Sunday, June 7, 2009 at Owensboro Place. He was born in Larue County to the late Admiral Dewey Lewis and Daisy (Edwards) Lewis. He was retired from Owensboro Catholic Cemeteries, and was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church.
Surviving are his wife Geraldine Lewis , daughters; Wanda Staples of Anniston, AL., Patty Devore of Louisville, KY., step- children; Jerry W. (Sandy) Bradley, Paul W. (Joyce) Patterson, and Darlene M. Patterson, all of Owensboro, a brother; Leroy ( Aline) Lewis of Upton, KY., five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held 12:00 p.m. Thursday, June 11, 2009 at Glenn Funeral Home with Fr. Bruce McCarty officiating. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Thursday.
