Alta M. Moore

Alta M. Moore, 84, of Philpot, died Tuesday, November 21, 2006, at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born March 5, 1922 in Daviess County. After working for more than 40 years, she retired from General Electric. A member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, she played the organ for many, many years, and was secretary for the Sunday School Department. She loved riding the Panther Express and was a strong Kentucky Wesleyan fan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert William Moore on November 3, 2005.

Survivors include her dear friends, Kevin Foster of Central City, Edith Payne of Owensboro, Evelyn Ellis and Nelda Baird, both of Philpot; her sisters-in-law, Martine Holland and her husband, George of Lewisport, Ruby Blakeman and her husband, James of Lexington; six nieces and nephews.

Services will be 10:00 AM Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home with entombment in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 2:30 until 8:00 PM Friday and after 9:00 AM Saturday at the funeral home.
