Aloysius Williams

April 1, 1928 — February 7, 2014

Aloysius "Ally" Williams, 85, of Owensboro, went to be with the Lord on February 7, 2014. Aloysius was born in Daviess County on April 1, 1928, to the late Mary and Aloysius Williams Sr. He was a welder by trade and retired from Green River Steel in 1990. Ally was of the Catholic faith and was a member of St. Stephen Cathedral. During his free time he enjoyed watching baseball, bowling, and gardening. Most of all he loved his family and spending time with them.

In addition to his parents Al was preceded in death by his wife Erma Bell (Parrott) Williams; an infant son Jerome Thomas Williams, and brothers Charles Alexander Williams and Joseph Milburn Williams

Survivors include his children; Jeanne Stinnett (Tim) of Owensboro, Steven Williams, and Terre McJoynt (Michael), both of Rochester, MN; grandchildren Kevin Williams and Jayme Stinnett of Owensboro, and Rachael McJoynt of Jacksonville, FL; sister, Mary Osborne and brother John Williams both of Owensboro, and many loving nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to express their thanks to DaVita Dialysis in Tell City, Heartland Villa in Lewisport, fourth floor neurology at OHRH with a special thanks to Neal, Erin and Chaplain Bernice, the Heartford House and Father Carl McCarthy.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions take the form of donations to The Saint Joseph and Paul Building Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.


Services will be held 10 am Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at Saint Joseph and Paul with Father Carl McCarthy officiating. Visitation will be held at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory Tuesday, February 11th, 2014 from 12 noon until 7 pm with prayers at 5 pm and from 8:30 am until 9:30 am on Wednesday. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
