Mrs. Alma Jean Hendrix, 68, of 530 Graystone Drive, Owensboro, died Friday, July 11, 2003, at her home with her loving family. She was born September 1, 1935 of Hubert and Eva Mae Snodgrass Brown, Sr., She was a member of Cross Pointe Baptist Church, co-founder and former song leader of gospel ministries at Owensboro Church of Jesus Christ for over 25 years. A homemaker and a Kentucky Colonel.
Survivors include, her husband of 50 years, Sherman Wayne Hendrix, three sons, Benjamin Hendrix, Stewart Hendrix,Richard Hendrix,two daughters, Carolyn Atkinson, and Patricia Millay, all of Owensboro. Nine grandchildren, Tara Shrewsberry, Casey Millay, Bradley Hendrix, Amanda Lanham, Amber Hendrix, Crystal Hendrix, Stacy Benningfield, Jason Atkinson and Laura Austin, all of Owensboro. She was also blessed with nine great-grandsons. She is also survived by three sisters, Doris Madewell, Diane Oliver, and Anna Lee Morris and one brother, Reverend Michael D. Brown, all of Owensboro.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday at Crosspointe Baptist Church, with entombment in Rosehill Cemetery. Vistation will be from 1:00 PM till 7:00 PM Sunday at Glenn Funeral Home, and after 10:00 AM Monday at the church.
