Allie Roberts, Jr., of 11194 Hwy 662, Lewisport, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2009 at his home. Born in Daviess County on June 7, 1930, he was the son the late Allie and Mollie Macy Roberts; was retired from Green River Steel; and a member of the Chestnut Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Roberts enjoyed music and especially his farm and gardening. He was preceded in death by his wife Mernia Mae Payne Roberts in 2007, and sisters, Nell Pannell and Aliene Haas.

Surviving are three daughters, Linda Estes and husband Wayne and Karen Fireline, all of Lewisport, and Janet Heath and husband John of Calhoun, two sons, Wayne Roberts of Owensboro and Bobby Roberts; nine grandchildren, Cara Thomas, Kim Davis, Krysti Estes, Keith Fireline, Jeremy Roberts, Brad Roberts, and Erin Coleman, Daniel Heath, and Scott Heath, 10 great grandchildren; and sisters, Katherine Holland of Calhoun and Latisha (and Karl) Gilbert of Owensboro.

Services are 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 7, 2009 at the Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. William Roberts officiating followed by burial in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 9-11:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Chestnut Grove Baptist Church, 967 S. Chestnut Grove Rd., Lewisport, KY 42351.
