Allan Dewaine Hendricks, 73, of Owensboro, passed away Saturday May 16, 2026. He was born May 16, 1953 in Whitesville to the late Clifford and Dorothy Young Hendricks. Allan retired after 37 years as a boiler engineer with Fields Packing Company. He had served on the board of the Owensboro-Daviess Co. Youth Football League for about 10 years where his sons played football. Allan did a lot of volunteer work at various places and was involved with the Moseleyville Volunteer Fire Department. He loved spending time with children and grandchildren and watching them play in their various sports activities. Allan also enjoyed spending time and drinking coffee with his friends at the former Cadillac Restaurant and recently at the McDonalds on West Parrish Avenue. He also had several thrift stores and enjoyed buying and selling antiques and loved drag racing. Allan was also preceded in death by two sisters, Sheila Simpson and Kimberly Brackett and a brother-in-law, Kenneth Taylor.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Vicki Hendricks; two sons, Tim Hendricks (Lea) and Kevin Hendricks (Johnna), all of Owensboro; four grandchildren, Korbin, Ansley, Gunnar, and Kaysin Hendricks; and eight brothers and sisters, Chris Hendricks (Janice) of Pellville, David Hendricks of Owensboro, Brenda Wilkes (Ken) of Owensboro, Cheryl Howard (Benny) of Whitesville, Judy Anderson (Rocky) of Calhoun, Debbie Taylor of Owensboro, Patty Rickard (Mike) of Savannah, Georgia, and Cathy Hendricks of Owensboro; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Noon Wednesday, May 20, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 3 PM until 7 PM Tuesday and 10 AM until 11:30 AM Wednesday at the funeral home.
