Aliene Fortner Manley

Aliene Fortner Manley, 86, of Owensboro, passed away October 21, 2026. She was born to the late Alfred and Eve Kirk Fortner in Hardin, KY on January 29, 1940. Aliene worked for the Daviess County Schools prepping and serving lunches for thousands of children over the years until she retired. She enjoyed gardening, loved her family, and enjoyed being a part of her church family at South Hampton Baptist Church.

Aliene was also preceded in death by her brothers, Norman Fortner, Bobby Fortner, and Ray Fortner, and grandson, Jason Roberts.

She is survived by her husband of sixty-nine years, Dempsey Manley; children, Sherion (Mike) Roberts. Todd (Nikki) Manley, and Michael (Bonnie) Manley; grandchildren, Dustin (Elizabeth) Roberts, Colton Manley, Lilly Manley, Cody Manley, and Travis Manley; great grandchildren, Rylee Manley, Jace Roberts, Eli Roberts, and Delaney Roberts; a brother, Ralph Fortner and sisters, Lena Rusher and Emogene Sisk. 

The funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, where visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Burial will follow at South Hampton Baptist Church Cemetery.
