Alice Martine York

Alice Martine Carrico York, 92, of Leisure Years Nursing Home, died there Friday. She was born January 11, 1911 in Knottsville to the late Raphael and Julie Wathen Johnson. She was a member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church. She enjoyed quilting, embroidery, chrocheting and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond York in 1994, three sons, Ralph Carrico in 1981, Randall Carrico in 1987, and Donald Carrico in 2000, two brothers, Vincent and Owen Johnson, and two sisters, Eunice Corley, and Winfred Roby.
She is survived by a son, and daughter in law, Clayton and Janet Carrico of Philpot, four grandchildren, Shellia Hamilton, Sharon Carrico, Stephen and Heather Carrico, five greatgrandchildren, Jordan Hamilton, Kelly Carrico, Hayden Carrico, Henry Carrico, Haley Carrico, a step-grandson, Michael Feldpausch, and two step-greatgrandchildren, Emilee and Grace Feldpausch, a brother, Lawrence Johnson of Knottsville, four sisters, Mary Edna Payne and Marie Fulkerson of Knottsville,Bernadette Melton and Rose Ann Roberts, of Owensboro.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 12:00 p.m. at Blessed Mother Catholic Church, with burial in Owensboro Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Glenn Funeral Home, where prayers will be said at 5:30 p.m., and also visitation after 9 a.m. Monday. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the American Cancer Society, or expressed online at www.glennfuneralhome.com.
